Sock Darning
Are your favorite pair of socks worn to threads? Holes in the toes and heels peeking through?
Darning is a centuries-old method for mending knitted garments. In this class we'll learn a simple woven patch technique. You'll come away with a pair of revitalized socks and the knowledge you'll need to bring all your moth-eaten knitwear back to life.
Bring a lightbulb (burnt out is okay!) and one or two pairs of worn-through camping or hiking socks. For this class, the chunkier the sock the better. (Think sock monkeys rather than cashmere trouser socks.) If you have a holey sweater, bring that, too!
