Didn't get the green thumb gene? Learn how to make a plant that will never die on you. We will be learning the Japanese technique of amigurumi to make a scale barrel cactus.

This will take the basic single crochet stitch students learn in beginning crochet and build on it, learning increases, invisible decreases, post stitches, and crocheting in the round.

Prior skills: Chain and single crochet and abbreviations for those stitches. Half double crochet helpful, but not necessary.

About Rhiannon Platt

Rhiannon Platt is at least third generation fiber artist. Raised by seamstresses, crocheters, and fiber artists of all kinds, she picked up her first pair of needles over a decade ago. Since her first scarf, Rhiannon has gone on to fabricate for Lion Brand Yarn, Nathan Vincent, Olek, Jeila Gueramian, Londonkaye, and Levi’s. In between commissions, she finds time to write patterns and make endless sweaters.
